A twitter account called @Public_Citizen tweeted about the 17 states that have Constitutional Carry and said "Getting a gun should not be easier than getting a driver's license". So let us talk about all of the ignorance in that tweet for a moment. I will start off by saying that that tweet was the most idiotic thing I have ever read. First of all please read this https://westernjournal.com/wasnt-aware-hard-reporter-tries-buy-gun-walmart-fails-twice/… Second, just because 17 states realize the need to not infringe upon the US citizens right to bear arms is different than getting a gun. If I go to a place that sells guns, such as a 9 mm Glock 19, no matter what I will have to get a back ground check. That is not a state law but a federal law. If I pass that back ground check I am free to carry that gun in these states only if I am a) a resident of that state or b) I am a resident of a state that has a reciprocal policy with that state. Now that will change, I think, in July when Wyoming allows anyone who can legally obtain and carry a gun in any state of the US to carry open or concealed. So on the topic of it being easier to get a driver license. On the financial aspect buying a gun and getting all the needed gear to carry a gun is almost 20 times more expensive than getting a driver license. Also you can be younger when you get your driver license at 16 compared to 18 in most states to open carry and 21 to conceal and carry. Also for anyone who cares criminals are going to conceal and carry either way because they know that if they get caught they get in trouble and it is easier if they conceal it to throw suspicion. It is harder to get a gun than a driver license but owning a gun is a right while driving is a privilege. Thus, I wish it was easier to practice one of my constitutional rights than a privilege but with or without conceal and carry laws it is not. As an organization who is called Public Citizen, I would think they would be more for the 2nd amendment than to allow criminals to only have guns and have an unchecked government that could become tyrannical. I don't know why they were propagating false information and I hope they figure out the importance of the U.S. Constitution, honesty, and not promoting violations of the American People's rights to defend themselves and the people around them. I am not an expert on gun policy but obviously I know more than this organization. They really need to learn how gun policy works and how it impacts American Citizens, criminals, and the U.S. Government (That they claim to be holding accountable). They are really need to call for more states to do this great policy of allowing the American people to conceal and carry to protect and defend themselves and the people around them. I, just like anyone else who understands the importance of the 2nd amendment, wish that more states would allow conceal and carry with no permit. However there are politicians who are like this organization that they hide under a disguise saying that they are for the people but they do not. I had written the first part yesterday but then @Public_Citizen posted another tweet about 4 main talking points. So let us address this too. They claimed that "Over 100 people are killed with guns every single day." This is true but a twisted truth. It does not tell you if it was homicide, suicide, justified, or cop related. Even homicide can be split in two groups gang related and non gang related. Most of gun violence is gang related or justified. Once again this organization makes it sound like all "Over 100 people" who are killed due to guns are all unjustifiable. Also for the amount of shootings that happen day to day most if not all are gang related, which means with or without the ability to buy a gun legally they will still be getting guns illegally. They also claimed that "Firearms are the leading cause of death for children and teens." This is the most blatant lie I have ever heard. I actually looked on the CDC website and the leading cause of death for children and teens are car accidents and poisoning. There is also a CNN article that talks about firearm but says it is not the leading cause of teen or child death. https://www.cdc.gov/transportationsafety/teen_drivers/teendrivers_factsheet.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fmotorvehiclesafety%2Fteen_drivers%2Fteendrivers_factsheet.html https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/01/health/youth-injury-death-rate-cdc-study/index.html Then the third claim they said was that "Nearly 1 million women alive today have been shot or shot at by an intimate partner" To my research this is true but misleading. Once again they don't tell you the whole story. The first thing I thought when I read this claim is why are 1 million women who have been shot or shot at still alive then? Well it is probably logical to conclude that they were able to protect themselves. Now that does not excuse domestic violence. That then leads you to think about domestic violence. If you know anything about domestic violence no matter what you do with guns guys and women will still abused their "loved ones" so what are you going to do make it illegal to marry people, live with people, or have children? This organization's logic on taking away guns will decrease gun violence is just like saying "you cannot abuse your wife if you don't have one" or "you cannot abuse your children if you don't have any". No matter what people will still get married, live together, and have children. Also taking away guns will not end domestic abuse because they can use other ways to abuse their victim. So I will just recap my whole theme that guns are not the issue it is people and generally unjustified gun use is done by people who should not be getting guns but they still do illegally. @Public_Citizen's solution is taking away guns from those who follow the law. If they had a brain cell they would be able to figure out that they are limiting the wrong people to own guns because they are trying to limit guns to people who already are not suppose to get guns. They show that they do not understand the 2nd amendment and gun policy. They for some reason are betraying the American people who they claim to be protecting from a potentially tyrannical government. I don't understand they lie and twist the truth to justify stripping the American people's right to bear arms.

The Mass Shooting in Boulder, CO

What happened in Boulder is very sad. However, what that shooter did was illegal just like every other person who does mass shootings....
